About the Binational Economic & Tourism Alliance

MISSION:

To provide the platform for U.S. and Canadian businesses and organizations to work collaboratively on cross-border economic and tourism development initiatives, in order to raise the regional and national awareness of the importance of cross-border communities to the North American economy, and ensure strong, sustainable growth and job creation in these communities.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR:

Organizations:  Connecting you to like-minded organizations interested in cross-border economic development and business & community growth.

Operators:  Connecting you to new customers, suppliers, research, sources of financing, marketing & cross-border business opportunities.

MEMBERS & SERVICES:

The BETA is over 150 members strong, representing over 7,500 operators from a variety of different sectors, companies and organizations of all sizes from cross-border regions in North America.  We connect you with members in your own and other sectors to expand your business opportunities, keep you apprised of the newest customer trends, research, training and resources, provide low-cost collaborative methods to promote your business effectively in cross-border markets, advocate for improvements to existing trade policies, and educate community sakeholders about the products and services you and your partners provide.

The first tourism development organization of its kind in North America, the Binational Tourism Alliance is an incorporated, not-for-profit, membership-based tourism industry trade organization created to support tourism destination development in cross-border regions shared by Canada and the United States.

Incorporated in April 2004 in New York State, and in April 2005 in Ontario, the organization is led by a volunteer board of Canadian and U.S. directors from private, not-for-profit and public sectors, representing the major tourism products and services in the cross-border regions - hotels, wineries, theatre, transportation, restaurants, cultural and heritage sites, festivals and events, media, academic institutions, direct marketing organizations - and the various organizations that support the tourism industry.
