BINATIONAL TOURISM ALLIANCE – Committee Revisions 2007                  July 23, 2007

 

Board members to chair with committee members from board and general membership.

1)Executive, Governance & Structure

Principal Officers of the Organization, responsible for all key decisions, overall board and organization direction, staff supervision & decisions, finance and governance issues.

2)Binational Doors Open/Niagara By Design Fall Season 

Binational Community Event to attract tourists to the Niagara Region; demonstration of binational cooperation and event delivery; one sub-committee responsible for annual plan, costs, meetings, reporting and delivery with staff and community partners.

4) Advocacy Issues                                                                 

Binational and industry related issues, pro-active approach; one sub-committee responsible for researching and reporting on key issues, communicating with legislators, board and members, preparing and presenting deputations and reports on behalf of the organization, with the assistance of staff and other members.

5) Finance & Audit                                                                                                            

Organizational bookkeeping and financial reporting; one sub-committee that reports to the Executive and board on financial information and requirements of the organization.

6) Membership & Fundraising       

Responsible for annual membership structure and benefits that meet member needs; generate new members, sponsors and revenue-generating opportunities for the organization; one sub-committee that plans, costs, meets, reports and delivers member events with staff, member and volunteer support.

          members, advisors, BTA members and volunteers.

      2) Chair to arrange and lead committee meetings and provide report on initiative at each

          meetings and deliver projects/programs with staff and volunteer support.
