Binational Tourism
Familiarity Tours
As a direct result of the Binational Marketing
session delivered at the Binational Tourism Summit 2006, Empire State
Development suggested the development of a Binational Niagara Media Familiarity
Tour. They were involved in a very successful binational fam with Quebec
in 2005 and had developed a great model that could easily be
replicated.
The Binational Tourism Alliance hosted a May meeting with
ESD, Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership and CVBs and Tourism Marketing
organizations from the Binational Niagara region, and partners agreed to proceed
with implementation of this first binational fam for June 2007.

Binational Tourism Alliance Announces First
Binational Niagara Media Familiarization Tour
Four North American travel writers
will experience Niagara from a binational perspective during the first
Binational Niagara Media Familiarization Tour, June 6-10. Empire
State Development (ESD), New York State’s economic development agency, which
administers the I LOVE NEW YORK campaign; and the Ontario Tourism Marketing
Partnership Corporation are sponsoring this first-time effort in collaboration
with the Binational Tourism Alliance, Tourism Niagara, Niagara Tourism and
Convention Corporation, the Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau and
tourism partners from Western New York and Southern Ontario. see more
